@thegibson That's fantastic, and I'm just really enjoying seeing the veilid protocol grow and get some working apps on top of it - things like stigmerge, scrapwire, maypole, and now this thing you're working on - I really can't wait to have a set of comms tools that are secure by design and from inception.
What we should have had all along.
It just does my heart good to be here at the birth of what I hope becomes the new foundation for decentralized and secure communication from people that care very deeply about privacy and security and know how to break it so they know how to make it.
Exciting times, my friend. I am totally here for it! And if you get to a point where you need beta testers, HMU - would love to help bring these apps to fruition for "the average jo".
@SynAck @thegibson something I've been pondering: does Veilid support multiple apps on the same device running at once? Would there be 3 separate nodes/connections?
@thegibson @SynAck I'm not all that familiar with mobile development, but is their sandboxing sufficient?
@thegibson @SynAck perfect! But then a secondary concern: I know the Veilid team really took mobile as a first-class platform seriously. What happens when Veilid wins and suddenly people have 3, 4, apps running in the background all bouncing traffic around? Seems like it could eat away at battery/data?
@thegibson @SynAck fair, and I'm not trying to be antagonistic with this line of questioning; I actually have developed a Veilid app (that has sadly languished due to IRL) that I wanted to bring to mobile.
I guess the difference I'm wondering about is "regular" apps have one pipe up using data in whichever direction, as needed. But a Veilid app is "always" using data since it's a relay node.
Isn't this an important difference, or nah?

@katco @thegibson This would probably be a great conversation to have on the Veilid discord server, no? That's where all the Veilid cool kids hang out, if you're not already there. 
Your sample size would be a lot greater with folks that have also developed apps (as well as THE apps).
@SynAck @thegibson probably, but I won't use Discord. I've asked Mr. Gibson a few times if they'd ever consider moving to something not Discord, but the answer is "not yet". I respect the decision and reasons that was chosen, but it's not for me.
