It’s kinda weird that Debian is getting into AI now. I’m like wait, I thought we all agreed that hype cycle was already breaking? Ugh, always being ahead of trends is so tiresome.
@sidereal also isn't debian's whole deal supposed to be that they're the stable and reliable distro
that’s why am asking, was it only devs voting?

cuz if LLMs “kill” copyright, then it happens both ways: you can't claim something is FLOSS if you had no right to the knowledge base’s copyright to begin with.
so if a FLOSS project can't lay claim to their copyright’s openness, then what is it?
i mean, it ain't libre/free either if the developers are now paying multimillion dollar monopsonies to write code, no?
@julieofthespirits yes, someone said in the comments that when the AI bubble pops, people are going to have to spend a lot of money to clean up the mess, and it won’t be the people who are currently inflating the AI bubble.
@sidereal it's hilarious how windows is getting so awful that the cost of switching to linux for many people is getting lower and lower, and a lot of that (although not all of it) has to do with AI
and then linux bros are like "we should adopt it too"
you had one job, which was to be an alternative
