like there’s multiple instances of people being paid to or blackmailed into throwing a match and just despite their best efforts not managing to, costing the organized crime orgs doing that a Fuckton of money
@halcy maybe both sides were paid to throw, thus balancing it out
@elomatreb it would be very funny if there were two separate dota match fixing mafias aiming for the same game by accident, but no, I think not. Also in one case they panicked and tried to make the money back by roping someone in, who immediately reported it, which is why the whole thing is coming apart currently

In Counterstrike the best known match fixing scandal was caught because A) the players doing the throwing were incredibly blatant about it and 😎 bragged about it to random people later
