The entry for Burgage is disappointly small & lacking detail, if one has spent a disproportionate amount of time studying it.
(E.g. The reason so many burghs are made up of very narrow, tall buildings, is the boundaries of the burgh itself was fixed, & the benefits of a burgh title (as opposed to lease) so sought after, people who got a plot then built upwards & subdivided tenements horizontally. And the symbol of Sasine for burgh titles wasn't earth, but a lock or key)
