Since Vikings discovered America in 1021 which makes the US Danish territory, this morning I signed an executive order renaming Lake Okeechobee in Florida.

@randahl ew, replacing the indigenous name with that of a war criminal? I get the joke you’re trying to make, but this is not the way.
@randahl well the Irish discovered it in the 6th century when St Brendan done his voyage
But we’d probably name that lake the same anyway :)
@randahl Forgetting all the people who were already here are we?
@randahl Wasn't Erikson's voyage in 1001? Or maybe I'm misremembering
WokeLake Okeechobee Obama
Surely no one wants to give even the slightest bit of recognition to someone like Trump or Epstein. No lake has ever deserved that!
But to keep the indigenous name seems really important to me.
First and last word just to make Trump more orange... or red.
🤗
@randahl I was going to make a reply which mocked trump by renaming somewhere near to his golf course in Scotland, then I noticed that it's listed as "LGTBQ+ friendly"...and that there's a nearby pub called "The Cock & Bull" which is just too perfect.
I thought that the Vikings landed in 999 CE?
@randahl Why not Lake TrumpEpsteinFiles?
@randahl the continent was discovered and populated a lot long ago than that.
