The Proustian rush of seeing an old Nordie Tayto packet from the 80s (probably), which still featured the secondary character of a Tayto worker who looked like Bernard Manning or somesuch. Did he have a name?
@Nickiquote
Sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off my fingers is troubling. I can’t unsee that packet now. 😣
@blabberlicious "Sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off my fingers" is either a killer opening line for a poem, or a killer title for an autobiography
One of my favourite first lines of a book is High Rise by JG Ballard:
"Later, as he sat on his balcony eating the dog, Dr Robert Laing reflected on the unusual events that had taken place within this huge apartment building during the previous three months."
It could now be improved:
"Later, as he sat on his balcony sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off his fingers, Dr Robert Laing reflected on the unusual events that had taken place within this…”
@Nickiquote @blabberlicious
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off his fingers, must be in want of a wife."
@mothninja @Nickiquote @blabberlicious "Marley was sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off his fingers, to begin with"
@DJDarren @Nickiquote @blabberlicious
"Last night, I dreamt I was sucking the remnants of Bernard Manning off my fingers again"
@mothninja @Nickiquote @blabberlicious I love how replies to conversations you've not seen appear in your timeline. This one definitely gets some kind of prize.
A very, very disturbing prize.

It deserves a pretty big glass of Unsee Juice even in context, tbf
@mothninja @Nickiquote @blabberlicious Even just the word 'juice' is making me uneasy, all things considered.
