Plan: lawyering, followed by three days of not lawyering.
@neil
Sounds excellent. Can I borrow it?
@Jaimieserotica You're going to come and do lawyering with me?
Excellent. We have some properly geeky stuff to do today.
When do you start?
@neil
I will need at least two coffees before I even contemplate it.
Do I have to use a weird computer, an' that?
We have a coffee machine in the kitchen, although I don't remember the last time it was used.
We probably need to chat about dress code. You've got a clean tshirt, right?
@neil
I can go to Starbucks en route...
Ah, the Andy Burnam dress-code. Nice!
Alison Goldfrapp 2025 Tour tee and denim miniskirt OK? I want to look as professional as possible.
Band t-shirts are great, but really whatever you are comfortable in. Professionalism is about you, not your wardrobe!
Do you prefer a standing desk?
@neil
'Professionalism is about you, not your wardrobe!' - I know a couple of Judges who would disagree 🤭
Standing is good. Until about mid-afternoon...
Fine. By mid-afternoon, I'll have found a chair. Or a yoga ball.
Although, realistically, mid-afternoon on a Friday before a long weekend, unless there's a genuine emergency, I suspect that you'll be heading home!
And yes, other people may have more rigid expectations around dress. But if you end up in court while working with me today, something has gone very badly wrong. I've been a solicitor for almost 20 years, and I have not been to court once.
@neil @Jaimieserotica impressively, you haven't even had to qualify "I have not been to court once" with "for professional reasons".
