LMDB has been the world's smallest, fastest, most reliable, fully ACID-compliant embedded DB since 2011 but there are still developers today who've never heard of it.

It used to be "build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door" but the world has to hear about you first. And it has to hear your signal against a backdrop of ever-growing noise, pretenders, false claims, etc...

Not that an open source DB has anything to do with a narcissistic pedo president.

Maybe that greatness thing works well for things that everybody has daily contact with.

But there are myriad systems, devices, ideas, that everybody's daily life depends on of which only handfuls of people are aware of. Great things, that nobody would know is great, without an amplified signal.
