I don't really want to get too into unhinged cold war nonsense but uh, if we sent the CIA guy to Moscow to tell the Russians not to attack any NATO countries that probably means we think Russia is considering attacking a NATO country and whether we're right or not, that's quite alarming news.

Now, is that actually why he went? I don't really know - but it doesn't make a lotta sense for an administration that has downplayed the threat of Russia and likes to portray itself as able to influence Putin's actions to leak "we sent Ratcliffe down there to straighten them out" - maybe there's a game being run here, but I don't understand it.
