Business fail because they don't tend to their working practices...
👷🏼 Staff say "we need to change these things in order to do things better", business replies "what do you know? This is complex business stuff!"
So, Business spends millions on consultants... 🧵
👨🏼💼Consultants say "change these business practices". Business replies "you're so expensive, we had to fire staff, now we can't afford to change our practices"
Business still hasn't changed it's practices... 🧵
🤖 AI says "change your business practices so our mega brains can do your business for you. Business replies "of course, we'll use AI!"
Business gets rid of all the expensive people that know how stuff works, _then_ hoses AI all over the place... 🧵
Business still hasn't changed anything about the way it does business. It burned money on consultants, fired all its valuable institutional knowledge, and expects AI to fix it.
Reader, this does not fix it.
My genuine hope that is one good thing comes out of AI infesting organisations, is that organisations get used to continuous improvement, and realise that the AI element is of little actual value and can be disposed of.
Better, would be that they listened to people in the first place.
