@neil Seat reservations and cycle reservations are AIUI two different things. The (seat) "reservations compulsory" flag in the industry data is widely misused by some TOCs and can often result in journey-based planner retailers saying it a train 'sold out' even when a non-Advance ticket is being purchased which don't require a seat reservation.
This is the cycle section, so I presume that the reservations which one must have, but which are not available, are cycle reservations.
@neil Yes, but it's possible for a given train to have cycle reservations available but not seat reservations, or vice-versa, or both types available. The "Reservations required: Yes" is likely to mean the "reservations compulsory" (seat) flag is set for that train in the industry data, which is not supposed be set unless the train is genuinely compulsory reservation, but as I say some TOCs misuse this flag.
@neil Until you attempt or not attempt to make a reservation, reservations both can and cannot be made. It is only by attempt to determine what the policy is that the policy is defined. Unfortunately, it will almost certainly result in the complete collapse of the tyres of your bike, as well as the injuring of a car (and we really don’t understand how).
