Foreign celebrity gossip is great. Look at this from Süddeutsche Zeitung:
Veronica Ferres and Carsten Maschmeyer have had a divorce!
I have a b s o l u t e l y no idea who they are. If Veronica Ferres came to clean our windows while Carsten Maschmeyer repaired our radon fan, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.
@mrundkvist And when you live abroad it's even funnier because it's with celebrities from your own country.
@David @mrundkvist I have that exact reaction to gossip about Italian "celebs" (I AM Italian) because they're only "famous" if you watch trash TV or (sometimes) soccer (or both), and I don't do either.
TV is a closed ecosystem with basically no external interactions, those people have no other footprint on the world.

In my circles, watching TV is also an almost abandoned pastime these days.
@mrundkvist @renatoram You're both lucky. I feel that in France, TV is still the main media. All I hear French people talk about online is either stuff politicians said or stuff that was said on TV. Very often, stuff politicians said on TV.
