@marcoarment Everything is some shade of grey, I agree 100%. As an outside observer, I think Matt is a genuinely good person who seems to always be level headed about the latest drama. If someone wants to use twitter it’s fine by me, I don’t use it and am not going back. I’ll never see their content again.
My (and lots of other people who are far better at communicating their thoughts) issue with it all is the secrecy and blindsiding colleagues and friends. They know, not even that deep down, that being on Twitter supports (monetarily and ideologically) the worst humanity has to offer. So they did it quietly, and when called out tried to hush people with a post not shared to Twitter (Can’t let the bros over there see they don’t like Elon). Nor to the main feed so people not following on here wouldn’t know.
I agree with Matt, people are way too quick to just shut down and hear no more. But in this case? Completely correct. Where Musk is involved there’s no semblance of nuance.
Btw, the continued support of Gruber by all the Apple blog-adjacent folks disgusts me and I really thought better of all the ATP hosts. I appreciate you’re not political (Mostly, you rightly get riled up on ATP about Trump, Cook, etc. 😅) but genocide support doesn’t feel political, you know?
