Any plans for a new Community Director/Manager?
@mbootsman The leadership team will work together to oversee the community needs in the interim. We will work out a plan in the next few weeks on a potential new role and share it as soon as it is concrete enough. If anything doesn't work during this transition, please reach out anytime.

Mastodon's latest trademark announcement does nothing but throw a cloud of uncertainty over the network's future. 🧵👇
@juanbits I think there's clearly more legal certainty now than there was before. The reality is that if Mastodon GmbH as the holder of the trade mark does not protect it properly it might lose it eventually. The trade mark has value in itself so I think it's reasonable and diligent to try to protect it and control it by our non-profit structure.
