After Dia added swipable profiles I tried switching from Arc again and after a few weeks, I think I can say I've finally broken free of Arc 😅
tbh it still feels like it's just a "less good Arc" - but at least it feels like it's being actively developed. and not slowly rotting
@charliemchapman Dia is sticking for me as well. The UI just feels so much better than any other alternative right now on the Mac. I can't wait for their rollout of their new paid plans (https://www.diabrowser.com/plans), so I can effectively have an AI-free Dia by not subscribing
@nileane haha yeah. Every time it accidental triggers an AI search instead of google from the tab bar is infuriating 😅
But also since the beginning of Arc I just wanted to pay them a sustainable amount of money to keep the software I love alive. So hoping the paid plan gives me the option to turn that all off, haha

@nileane I've found "prefer" means "most of the time but randomly we're still gonna shoot you over to AI just to mess with you"
@charliemchapman @nileane I do wonder what their plans are after the Atlassian acquisition. Surely Atlassian doesn't buy them to charge a $20/month browser sub, right?
But yeah, it's really good…every update makes it more like Arc.
@matt_birchler @nileane I thought I had heard something around the time of the acquisition about someone high up at Atlassian just really loved Arc and wanted to keep it alive 😅 Not sure if that was real or not though
