I was talking to a new doctor and when she asked what I do to manage my chronic pain, I mentioned talking to my "internet friends" and I could see this horror spark in her eyes and she gently, politely asked "... ChatGPT?"
"REAL PEOPLE! I AM TALKING TO REAL PEOPLE, ON THE INTERNET" I was in an absolutely dire hurry to clarify 
also, the difference in attitudes between Dutch general practitioner doctors who have to deal with a million random frontline problems a day, and dedicated chronic pain doctors, is incredible
General practioner: oh you've been in pain constantly all over your body for months? Take ibuprofen. From the grocery store. Why did you even need me to tell you that, honestly
Somatic pain specialist: with how serious your symptoms are, I'm impressed you even make it to our office 🥺 I'm prescribing you "how about you just skip work for the rest of the day, sweetie"
... the trick, of course, is ever successfully escalating to a specialist in the first place
