"Robot beats Usain Bolt"
So?
'Hot air balloon ascends higher than Olympic high jumper Gale Lark'
'Submarine can stay underwater longer than Karen Fish of Guildford'
'Lawn mower cuts grass quicker than Herbie Vorr when he's on all fours nibbling'
It's a *robot*. False equivalence.
@Richard_Littler 👏👏👏
Call me when it can sort, wash, and put away my laundry.
@fsinn @Richard_Littler WORD!
How about doing the dishes, taking out the trash, and doing the litter box! 🤣
@fahrni @Richard_Littler See, *those* would be useful. The dishes alone for Pete’s sake. We were promised utility, we got an increasingly error prone predictive text to rewrite emails that costs an increasing amount of cash and resources. I want what the Jetsons had or forget it.
@fsinn @Richard_Littler Wouldn't that be something? Useful little robots doing our work so we could do the interesting stuff, like lounge, drink beer, and watch waaaaaay too much TV?
I mean, uhhhh, we could solve problems, make art, and make love. Yeah, that's what we'd do!
@Richard_Littler I have a car which goes *much* faster than Usain Bolt, and can keep doing so for a hundred miles and more, but you don't see me bragging about it.
@Richard_Littler You're not thinking of it from the correct military perspective.
@troed @Richard_Littler The military perspective would probably just give it wheels.
@RolloTreadway That would not work well in urban warfare.
@troed @Richard_Littler It's a robot that goes fast on flat ground in a straight line. There is not a military use where going fast on flat ground in a straight line is best achieved without wheels.
