my 6-month very cheap deal with Optus for 500/50 NBN ends this week (after cashback it was like $45/m) - this is now the third time I've churned to get the 6 month promos, I'm so tired boss
do i keep chasing the 6 month promos? (annoying, but will save me ~$400/yr) or pick one good ISP and stick with them and forget about it
@decryption Do you spend more than $400 in time or sanity?
@decryption depends if you’re spending more than $400/year of your time to play silly buggers
@decryption does it save you 400 per year relative to the best stable deal, or vs that providers full price?
For me I can't be fucked constantly churning and just stick with something stable and reliable that isn't exorbitant. Helps that my current provider fucked up and I'm only paying for 50/20 despite getting 100/20.
@mattdarveniza $400-ish/yr compared to the best stable deal (they're all almost exactly the same price after the promo, give or take $5/m)
@decryption yeah... it's not an insignificant amount of money is it... I guess it comes down to whether it's worth $200 of your time stuffing around for each time you switch.
@decryption I’d love to know how much more profitable the “real” price is, and if they’re running at a loss during the 6 month promo period.
@decryption keep chasing I reckon!
@decryption which one should Inswitch to. I’m tired of Aussie BB slow and decrepit support
@franksting the fact you even have to contact support isn't good
@decryption after multiple calls yes. They shoild be following up
@decryption how many have had native dual stack?
@waderoberts ive never paid attention!
