YouTube needs a “block channel” feature so bad.
@thomasfuchs @bitsavers I'm a YT Premium subscriber so I don't know if that gives me special options, but pretty sure I can just block channels. I have blocked this one.
@thejpster @thomasfuchs @bitsavers I've been doing the whole "don't recommend this channel" on everything with AI-generated thumbnails, and it doesn't particularly help.
There are a seemingly infinite number of AI-generated channels now, just like Amazon is flooded with FLACN (five-letter-acronym-company-name) spam.
It's effectively free to throw slop against the wall to see what sticks.
@rogerlipscombe @thejpster @bitsavers Those are at least easy to spot. The worst are the documentary mills that seem legitimate at first (channel has been around for years, actual human person visible narrating it sometimes), but then somehow they make one 45-minute documentary every week and have 50k subscribers.
