Today in "horrors beyond mortal comprehension" I learned that there is an abandoned Mr Blobby theme park in Somerset, and would like to propose it as the location of the 2027 UK Fedi meetup.

@afewbugs I can definitely remember when there were brown tourist signs on the M5 for Crinkly Bottom.
I know it's silly season for the news, but "here's several thousand words about an unsuccessful theme park that wasn't even in the county, hasn't been open for thirty years, and was levelled over a decade ago" is quite the editorial decision.

I understood it had finally been demolished.
@afewbugs Not having been in the UK in the 1990s, I only found out about Mr Blobby from Fedi accounts after I signed up here. I naturally thought it was an elaborate Fedi hoax. Which I haven’t entirely ruled out.
