Due to ongoing disappointment with how infosec.exchange moderates racism (or doesn't, as the case may be), and a conversation with one of their moderators which very much left us disillusioned as to their capacity for taking racism seriously, we will be blocking that instance from mastodon.art in two weeks.

@Curator We've had them on "limit" for at least a couple of years now, for hosting CISA accounts (I'm not sure which of the several meanings was intended, but I gathered they're basically cops or supporting cops in some way.) I guess when there's one red flag, others often turn up.
...and it's too bad, because there are some interesting (and probably okay?) people there. Maybe being fediblocked will light a fire under them to find a better instance.
@Curator Thank you so much for taking the action (and the flak) to back up your principles. We all need to be doing this, but I'm aware that for mods the burden of that can be a lot. Being anti-racist for the accolades is both gross and wildly misinformed, and it's clear (*gestures to some comments*), that wasn't your goal. Thank you, anyway.
@Curator @wendynather I haven’t seen racism from any folks I know on infosec.exchange, but I know that @jerry has been battling a lot of AI bot accounts on the instance recently that have been spreading right-wing nonsense.
@thomasareed @wendynather @jerry Unfortunately, 'I haven't seen the racism' is what Black folks always encounter from white people when they say they're experiencing racism here. We've sent several reports of racism through to i.e. just in the past few weeks and none of them were really dealt with (in our opinion) appropriately, and the conversation with the mod linked above was just disgusting.
