Why would USA want to import beef from Argentina when Iowa already exists?

my partial understanding is that our beef supply is dwindling because heifer retention is continuing to fall. They're not being bred, so fewer cattle going to market.
Tyson just closed the beef processing plant in Illinois a week or so ago. Emailed the employees, telling them "Today is your final shift."
@farah Already decades' worth of family farms shutting down, going up for sale, bought up by big agribusiness. If you had friends in a position to massively benefit from locking down a lot of the food-production business left in the country by undercutting their prices and driving them to sell... Would you? And who would you be, if you were in that position, and who would they be?
