Grrrr - bewilderment, anger, fear regarding the scanning & destroying of books by AI companies; I totally get that.
But putting it in the same category as the Nazi book burnings of the 1930s and the Taliban destroying the Buddhas of Bamiyan 1998/2001, this is just using shock tactics and simply wrong.
One is an act of unchecked capitalist/extractive action; the other an act of attempted conscious extermination.
Such comparisons trivialize the atrocities, which is why I'm so opposed to them.
