Can someone tell me how to get fit without paying $2,600 annually for access to my local gym?
@harris you can get a commercial-grade treadmill for (slightly) less than that, though if you’re in Sommerville you might not have the space. There’s a decent climbing gym in the area too, depending exactly where you are.
God, I wish this were an exaggeration, but I priced it out and that’s the actual cost.
@harris I don’t know if it applies where you are, but we have a local public rec center that has a buncha equipment and weights (as well as some tennis and basketball court space).
AARP is also open to folks of any age and has a bunch of free online exercise classes targeting different mobility and impact levels.
@harris Worth trying to go to a local trainer for a session or two, asking them to recommend a routine you can do at home if you're willing to buy a few weights and a cardio machine of some sort.
