So; I've spent the afternoon playing with my virtual server setup at home. Along the way, I've found the need to write down a couple of interesting things I've found about how I can make my linux experience less frustrating.
So obviously, I spun up a new blog which contains at least one post on how terminal information can be passed between machines (which, despite having used linux for a long time, I literally found out today).
The blog is: https://apollo.lucien.me.uk/~dave/
I'd like to thank @neil for their toots along the way about their use of the Bash Static Site Generator which I've selected as the "make a blog" software, as a direct result of their Fediverse influence. Thanks Neil!
@neil This was a near perfect demonstration of yak shaving in action. I discovered the thing, then decided I needed to note it for posterity.
Normal people wouldn't have spun up a new server, set up the personal website on it, given that server Let's Encrypt certificates (something else I likely now need to write down as a reminder on how to do!) and learned a new site generator just to write themselves a reminder on how to setup the terminfo on a remote machine.
Normal's boring though 😆
@kxtcd950 Oh, absolutely. Learning is learning!
