An important test for my new phone camera was... Crow pictures of course!!!
As previously mentioned, the lack of #CrowUpdate at the moment is because of the heat (I'm not really in the mood to be outside much and the crows hide somewhere for most of the time). So I rarely "encounter" them even if I see them fly by in front of the house a few times a day. However, today, returning from grocery shopping Mr Crow was in the covered area where I park my car and next to where I leave peanuts daily! ⤵️
When my wife got out of the car, I parked and got the groceries out, I was surprised that he didn't fly away, but just waited a little further away in the street. I quickly understood why: he hadn't grabbed all the peanuts yet. By the time I was ready to go see him, he was at the entrance of the park, not sure what to do. I was not getting inside so he was not returning to my garden, but there were people in the park, so he couldn't meet me in the park either. ⤵️
So I just gave him peanuts on the sidewalk. And used this occasion to test my new camera a little more. The first picture above was okay, but the close-up was quite disappointing.
I guess it's okay on a small screen, but it definitely is not on a big one, especially the parts that were in movement are blurry. However, I find a way to fix my main problem. The camera can shoot in 12mp or 50mp, but it always defaulted back to 12 for reasons. ⤵️
Not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but it sure is annoying. But thanks to Reddit, I found a workaround (define a "preset" as the "default" that preset being the basic one with just the mp being different). So we'll see what it looks like with future pictures (otherwise I'll have to keep my old phone as a "camera" - I also could dust-off my DSLR, but it's obviously not practical for impromptu pictures.)
Back to the crows. After giving peanuts to Mr Crow, I watered my garden. ⤵️
Mr Crow went to the park. Ms Crow showed up above me to get the remaining peanuts in the garden, but didn't come down and soon left not wanting to wait more.
It's a shame they don't know the magic of "hose rain" when it's so hot.
On a side note, no signs of Junior, but s/he may have been around and/or I noticed that s/he was spending more time alone lately... It's the end of August, it'll soon be time to leave the figurative nest that the park has been since s/he left his/her literal nest.
