@infobeautiful The image above appears to be taken out of context and does not represent an actual average based on demographics. Based on reading a few abstracts of the research, it is more likely the average of what subjects in these areas considered to be an "attractive" face, where this version (attached) may have been the blended image based on demography. I don't have access to the original studies at Glasgow University, but these all seem to be associated with that institution.
I wish they had grouped people by region, such as all Orientals, or Nordics together. I like seeing the shift in features as you move from place to place.
