An interesting and very Australian take on the current economic scrap going on across the 49th parallel. I still don't understand why people are accepting the premise of the question and imposing reciprocal tarrifs. Those only hurt your own people. Anyway, an interesting read.

@quixoticgeek yeah I would have thought an export duty on fossil fuels would have been the way to hit back... But of course that's a lobby the government can't stand up to
@quixoticgeek - Depends on how well the reciprocal tariffs are aimed: If Carney can go "THESE industries are vulnerable to Canadian competition / have replacement goods made here, and their owners generally support Trump (but money can shift them)", those are prime targets for inflicting pain.
I'll pay 10% more for [thing] to buy Canadian and make a republican billionaire freak out about the trade war.
