In the fullness of time, space, and the incomprehensible infinities of square dance night at the Hilbert Hotel, it may turn out that the boosters have the right of it and we critics were wrong.
Even should such miracles come to pass, that does not mean that our criticisms were wrong or invalid given what we know *now* — as opposed to what we might come to learn in some hypothetical future.
All by way of getting at that if you use AI, and believe that you are correct and justified in doing so, that still doesn't make the criticism go away.
In this case it gets kinda convoluted because so many boosters have acted in terrible faith, including violating consent at every turn in order to collect training data and push products. Critics and bystanders are, at times, pretty reasonably fed up with that shit.
That means that a lot of the normal channels for resolving criticism are gone.
So yeah, if you're a good faith booster, I get how frustrating that has to be, and I even have some sympathies. But you've also got to recognize that boosterism of any kind is way the hell out on a limb; it may not seem like it in tech influencer circles, but it is. More to the point, if you want to be able to change anything, you've got to come to terms with that bad faith actors are making sure the rest of us are sick and tired of boosterism.
