For 14 countries, a bar chart of miles cycled per year per person relative to bicyclist fatalities per billion miles cycled.

The countries are ordered left to right according to the mikes cycled per person, largest first.

The Netherlands are first with the lowest relative deaths. The US are last with deaths towering over miles cycled.

@urlyman those fatalities in Belgium not looking good... no surprise, tho. I dabble in the ol' sign-language fights with drivers at least once a week here

We can infer from this that the average Nederlander cycles about 17km per week, while the average American cycles about 100 metres per week
