In another test of the political sensibilities of Andy Burnham's (new) administration, we can wonder if he may quietly step in to halt the prosecution Rajiv Menon KC who is being prosecuted for contempt of court for reminding a jury of the legal principle of its independence.
This is another Palestine Action linked case of a Judge seeming to be acting on a political not a judicial agenda, to punish protest/dissent.
This attack on the Rule of Law needs to be stopped.

@ChrisMayLA6 This isn't a new problem. Highly-politicised legal processes were a core part of the British Empire. They were the key reason why Jim Callaghan's 1969 deployment of troops to Northern Ireland failed. The army saw its role as another colonial job of restoring control, rather than establishing justice.
The Troubles allowed those principles to be entrenched in UK domestic law. Burnham has retained as Home Secretary an enthusiastic champion of repressive, politicised colonial law.

Sure, @Wen. People selected for a desire to play Rambo are precisely the worst people to encourage peaceful outcomes.
But there was a particular problem with the British Army. It had long experience of suppressing civilian popuostions in the colonies, e,g. Kenya & Malays. It had doctrines of racist disdain for natives, and systematised techniques of torture which it took to Northen Ireland
