What's the word for that emotion where you encounter something that you've made your life's work and special interest and have put a lot of time effort and study into it and then burnt out completely and now whenever you encounter it you physically recoil and don't want to learn anything new about it or hear about it ever again?
@tinker Isn't that just called "infosec"? 🤔
@tinker grief is part of it.
@tinker I call it “doing any profession that involves programming or IT.”
@tinker I don’t know but I’m sorry. That sucks.
Maybe it’s “Learning to say no”?
Also what do you do when it lingers and you're like five life's works into it and the feeling doesn't go away so really when you just hear about anything at all you just continually recoil over and over again?
@tinker I would say that this is your body telling you that you’ve reached a hard limit. It doesn’t mean that you can never go back but it mend that there is something wrong and you need to figure it out.
I have no idea what your life looks but you should talk to someone professional about this if you can.
@tinker probably not what you were looking for, but that sounds like PTSD ?
@tinker I dunno, but do tell me when you do.
Because, me too.
@tinker i just assume thats how life has to be now, it must be wonderful to go through life so oblivious to complex feelings and emotions, maybe then i would have something resembling peace
