#WordWeavers Aug. 21: What's a trope you enjoy writing, even if it's unpopular?
Supervillains. Who are mostly not the most evil evil-doers, because the laws they're breaking were bought and paid for by those with the most money, who are the *truly* evil oligarchs, the ones who can change the law to legalize their crimes or at least maximize their profitability.
(NB: not superheroes, superheroes are mostly fascist-aligned thugs.)
@cstross #WordWeavers Aug. 21: What's a trope you enjoy writing, even if it's unpopular? Macguffin quests. Either get or get rid of. They're a good excuse to send the characters out and about, into all kinds of sticky situations.

@TheOneSwit Consider that Batman is a billionaire who likes to dress up in skin-tight fetishware and beat the crap out of mentally ill people at night. Does *that* sound like a good guy to you, or an Elon Musk fan boy?
