@pzmyers The modern English language is barely 600 years old, nevermind 6000 years old ROFL. And we don't even use the same pronouns in English today that were most commonly used 600 years ago. See Shakespeare.
@badtux @pzmyers I love how "girl" was a gender-neutral pronoun for child a few centuries ago, and "boy" was a gender-neutral one specifically for mischief-makers.
(And also how the gender significance of pink vs. blue flipped about 150 years ago. And what we call "an abortion" was "regulating the flow" 250 years ago, hence "no abortion when the Founding Fathers wrote the constitution" is bullshit propaganda.)

@cstross @pzmyers And the same morons ranting about pronouns also rant about boys wearing dresses being unnatural, at which point I go look at childhood photos and portraits of famous people from the 19th century and earlier and admire the fancy dresses that the young boys are wearing. (Artists had to rely on "boy" props like swords and such to let the viewer know these were boys).
