@Eceni (I think we agree on this but) if we view capitalism and the market economy as inherently toxic (as I do), is work to make it less unequal not counter productive? We need to be building the new structures, not trying to shore up the wanton excess of the old.

@simon_brooke I am with you on this - but while we work to build the new structure from scratch, you and I - there are people who are doing their best to make the existing system less toxic and I felt they deserved a place at the table.

We can't create purity tests when we don't know what will land on fertile soil and take off...

@Eceni The more tolerable the broken system seems, the less motivation there is on people to change it. And the system will seem vaguely tolerable until we are well past all the fatal tipping points -- indeed, we may already be past tipping points that condemn a quarter of the world's population to horrible deaths.

To continue to prop up the old system, I believe, is to be complicit in the deaths further delay will cause.

Yes, that's brutal. But do you disagree?

@simon_brooke @Eceni sadly I agree. I have noticed a lot of head in the sand behaviour. Too many people don't want to hear it because they don't think they can do anything. The old 'what can I do' resulting in enabling corruption to continue. There is a lot of toxic positively, quantum 'reality isn't real', unawareness, and capitalist distraction happening. I think people need to be informed of what they can do as individuals to make positive changes. For me, that is little things like saying no to digital ID, replacing Meta with the Fediverse, shopping at local markets rather than Colesworth, and switching banks. I would love more ideas on how we can encourage positive change in a way that is easy for people to digest without the 'negativity'.
