Are there any movements, groups, or volunteer-heavy organizations you are part of that you think work particularly well? Do you have an idea of what makes them work well? Any public statements of goals or values, or guidelines for people engaging in the community, that you feel contribute to successful functioning? Please share!
Hoping to help networks i am in move toward multiple connected groups each with a defined purpose, values, and governance, and looking for examples of the invitation to join (establishing alignment of goals/values) and/or written rules that have worked well during operation (keeping alignment).
@mlncn I’m in the process of setting up a UK CIC to do just this (despite some obvious reservations, which I’m happy to discuss). I’m working on finalizing the charter and public-purpose declaration, and can share them with you shortly.
(Then wire this together with double-links borrowed from sociocracy, will likely need to write our own bit about it though – https://www.sociocracyforall.org/double-linking/ as the linked groups really really do not have to be a "higher" and a "lower" in my opinion – but the group purposes take priority and where i am really looking for examples, though would also love examples of this sort of networked organization, sociocratic or not!)
@mlncn I was going to suggest Sociocracy for All :)
