@icaria36 are you still getting intermittent loss of text input in Bitwig? It's happening me almost every time (i3 X11, NVIDIA, flatpak) and it's driving me up the wall haha
@meljoann Not since I upgraded to Ubuntu 26.04. At least in my case, a Bitwig dev found the issue and it was a regression somewhere in the GNOME stack or middleware (can't remember). Are you on the last version or Ubuntu? I can try to find more details in the emails. I was so frustrated about this and if I can help you getting rid of this problem, I will.
@icaria36 can you remember, did they give any details about the middleware? I’m wondering if there’s a specific package I can upgrade…
No worries if you can’t find it, I’ll try email support and hopefully get through to the same helpful dev 😆
@meljoann Found the email from Bitwig support:
> this turned out to be a bug in ibus, which has been fixed in the meantime.
> If you update ibus on your system, it should work:
> https://github.com/ibus/ibus/issues/2789
(In this bug report, abique is a Bitwig dev.)
@icaria36 amazing! Thanks so much 💜
@defaultmediatransmitter @icaria36 yeah Debian is still on GNOME 48... downloading KDE as we speak! thanks both x
@meljoann @defaultmediatransmitter @icaria36 also yes to Debian, for real. It's the best.
@meljoann @defaultmediatransmitter @icaria36 KDE is life.
Not sure if it's fixed yet, but copy/paste won't work in Bitwig if you have anything in your KDE clipboard manager. Clear it out and everything is fine.
That was a gotcha that drove me crazy for awhile.
