I faced my fears (of glazing) and actually finished some ceramics pieces
my lil guy made a friend in the kiln
got one piece ready to bisque fire, and started on this grumpy grumpy guy
we made it through bisque!
and fired
colorful Dorothy Day! I think I’ve learned a lot about making busts since firing this, but I’m making an effort to both be happy with finished pieces and aware of how I will approach things differently next time
I tried a different technique for building this one and had a lot of fun (also a new type of clay which let me tell you smells very nice (like mud))
frog of frogs
unexpected glazing results on these -- the studio misfired the bisque kiln as glaze, which I think is why they came out like this, instead of a rich reddish-brown
we getting dorothy day? idk what I’ll do about her glasses
also this guy is home -- there's a lot I would do different in retrospect but I'm pretty happy with it 😊
@tripofmice a real excellent set of guys
@tripofmice i would watch a feature film about their hijinx for sure
@tripofmice wow only just realizing how excellent the cup is too
@tripofmice perfect glaze choice for the face!
@tripofmice mouse! can you pour me three fingers of anything, please!
