Tom Calhoun has announced nearly 1800 consecutive games for the St. Louis Blues and it was surprising that he didn't have a Wikipedia page. I am not great with sports stuff so I had to look up what a hockey announcer actually does (the organists I know about 😂 ) and how the Stanley Cup playoffs work. Most of what I know about hockey comes from Shoresy and Heated Rivalry Insta content and growing up down the road from Bobby Sweeney. This one was fun to write.

The Democratic Socialists of America have been gaining ground in every election (they won seven out of seven races in Vermont yesterday). They have two national co-chairs. Ashik Siddique already had a Wikipedia page, but now Megan Romer has one too.
I helped a man at Drop-In Time start shifting his tech processes from his iPad to his laptop. His desktop was a background of many years of Vermont Life covers. He had a bit of a hand tremor so I set him up with a bigger cursor and showed him how speech-to-text worked. When I worked with someone else she said "Do you know who that WAS?" I did not. Turns out it was Tom Slayton, retired longtime editor of Vermont Life. No Wikipedia page (til now). An honor to write it.
Avoided Apple news and Wordpress news by spending this rainy afternoon learning about Joseph Mikulec, a Croatian man who became naturalized in America and spent his life walking all over the world #AsOneDoes and collecting autographs in a huge book. He died with no money (having bequeathed his book for $2500 some years before) and the book sold in 2025, to the mayor of his Croatian hometown, for $225 K. When I say book, you really can't imagine....
I went to a concert called Endfest in 1992 which was a wild event with the Beastie Boys, L7, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney and a bunch of others. The Wikipedia page for the event had a redlink for the venue where they played. So now there's a page for the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Events Center.
