According to the official doctrine:
Communism, in one sentence, is "from each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs".
People would be so conscientious that:
(i) money would be abolished, everything would be free of charge, but people would only take what they need;
(ii) no one would commit crimes, so there would be no law enforcement;
(iii) the whole world would be a single country, so there would be no wars and no military forces.
Etc.
Socialism, on the other hand, is "from each according to their abilities, to each according to their labor".
There could not be any homeless and any unemployed.
Socialism was declared built some time in the 1960s; communism was never built.
Omitting important parts about no private ownership of means of production, full control of the state by the communist party, full control of the economy by the state, etc., etc., etc.
@DGI That's socialism, not communism, and yes, we grow up Socialist, and should stay so for the betterment of all society.
@DGI sorry, hard disagree. Kids have to be taught to share. Once they're taught though...
