I feel like there's a paper to be written about this by someone smarter than me about how this relates to the president being a literal WWE villain who never breaks kayfabe

One of the biggest problems is most of the stuff around him specifically is he IS presumed to be a character doing it for the bit and committing to it, and 'obviously he doesn't mean EVERYTHING he says' but people who say that will absolutely never clarify, and insist it's obvious.
They won't clarify because they have no idea.
He probably used to do some of it for jokes/'trolling' at some point, but at this point he certainly can no longer distinguish.
It's terrifying.
