So while, for US citizens picking up the bill, this might seem questionable, as a hearts and minds exercise it may not be that stupid.

I guess the real question is, what happens when the orange one gets bored or offended or starts a war with a country with some military capability. Will Denmark suddenly find itself having to ship 1K patients back to Europe?

I am not aware of a hospital icebreaker existing anywhere in the world.

Besides that the US has only veryvery few arctic-capable ships anyway, none of them even remotely resembling a hospital ship. It has a reason why Greenland's/Denmark's marine mostly consists of coast patrol sized boats has a reason: ever tried evading the many icebergs around Greenland with a bigger ship?
