@laprice We can try assuming no knowledge at all. Starting from kitchen basics, with the intention of finding a common starting point and building out from there. But then we take the risk people might get bored, or worse, feel patronised. In discussing anything with anyone, one walks a constant tightrope between accusations of being elitist, or boring/ arrogant.
Knowing stuff sucks. I totally understand the protagonist in Pi taking a drill to his head.

It's the "of course," uttered by the female figure in this cartoon that puts it over the top, of course.
@laprice @Alice @TheBreadmonkey
Is this, by chance, a pastiche?
@Guillotine_Jones @laprice @Alice
A small green delicious shelled nut?
@TheBreadmonkey @laprice @Alice
You may be thinking of pasticcio, Ben.

oh, you mean Prosciutto . . .
@cgsines @TheBreadmonkey @laprice @Alice
Wasn't Prosciutto the father figure in that story?
@cgsines @Guillotine_Jones @laprice @Alice
What? The iconic tabletop football game, created in 1946 by Peter Adolph, where players simulate association football by flicking miniature plastic figures with their fingers across a felt pitch?
@TheBreadmonkey @Guillotine_Jones @laprice @Alice ah, I think that’s Braggadocio
@Annaspanner @TheBreadmonkey @laprice @Alice
The Scots town that mysteriously appears for one day every 100 years?
@Annaspanner @Guillotine_Jones @laprice @Alice
The bitter red leafed chicory?
@laprice @TheBreadmonkey I’m going to start introducing myself to others as Alice McFlurry as if I expect them to know who I am and I can only hope that Ben will do the same by introducing himself as The Bread Monkey.
@Alice @TheBreadmonkey @laprice Wait. You weren’t using your real names? I didn’t have to use my real name? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
@TheBreadmonkey @Alice @laprice
EXACTLY like Madonna and Prince.
But if you ask me, I'll be unable to explain how they're alike.
@Alice @laprice @TheBreadmonkey I'll just NameDrop you in regular conversations, Alice
@NickGates @laprice @TheBreadmonkey 😂 Please let me know how that goes!
@m3t00 A McFlurry with Maltesers? I'll take two!
