I loathe Jack Dorsey as much as the next person but this is just silly. It's not just the unnecessary hostility to the ATproto ecosystem, it's not just the erasure of Blacksky (which is just as much an independent non-billiionaire-funded project as anything in the Fediverse) ... check out this quote from Mastodon's The Future Is Ours to Build Together last Novemver

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it too. But Jeff Atwood (Stack Overflow), Biz Stone (Twitter), and Craig Newmark (Craigslist) are Not Poor.
Also wait a second, Wordpress invests in the Fediverse and Matt Mullenweg is also Not Poor. Oh and there's Meta, let's not forget about them!
