@billgoats I'm not surprised at all! Mint is a pleasure to use. Nothing difficult or scary about it. I've set it up for numerous people locally and they've had no problems. That includes several elderly folk that are not "computer people". They'd had fairly computers that they stopped using because Windows had become unusable. One still using Windows 8.

As you pointed out in your original post, many folks these days just need a web browser. And for anyone that needs a bit more it's close enough to what they were probably using with Windows that it's not a stretch to click the menu in the bottom left to get a "start" menu with apps, etc. Desktop is right there to save files.
