Are you one of my many followers who are missing goats? Well, you're in luck, today I got to visit cows on a dairy farm that's run by an amateur astronomer!

Now time to update satellite numbers and give my talk here in New Plymouth in an hour (and try not to freak out about how terribly many things I am horrifically behind on due to this lecture schedule) #ProfSamLectureTour

@sundogplanets
Thank you for coming to Ngāmotu/New Plymouth! I really enjoyed your talk, and Mr Zizabeph now understands the random panic-rants about Low Earth Orbit that I've subjected him to over the past year or so.

@sundogplanets What's it called when there are too many goats in orbit? A Singoatlarity?

@sundogplanets
Goats vs cows.
Cascading satellite collisions vs multi vehicle motorway pile-ups.

Sort of the same but not quite.

@sundogplanets goats, cows, livestock, astronomers. Literally head in the clouds and feet on the ground.

There are 15 more Starlinks in orbit today (according to the catalogue https://planet4589.org/space/con/conlist.html) than there were yesterday - I think due to a weird combination of launches, reentries, and Jonathan McDowell being on travel!

@sundogplanets I suspect the travel factor explains most of it 😆
