The thing is, if you get a feeling that it’s slop you get it for a reason—but this reason is not tangible or able to be precisely expressed (and used e.g. in an algorithm).
You get it because you’re a human being and have emotions and can feel that something is wrong.
Something machines and algorithms will never have.
Embrace it, it’s an advantage. Perhaps the biggest advantage of anything ever and exactly what makes us human beings.
You hone this skill and ability by getting lost in a good book, by truly getting emotional when looking at art, by being absorbed in music, by forgetting the world around you when watching a movie, by being delighted when you see a child laugh, by being in the zone when playing a game, by becoming selfless when having sex, when grieving a loss, when being sad about the world.
Don’t let them take this from you.
And obviously you tune your bullshit radar even more by writing, painting, sculpting, making music, sharing your thoughts, designing and building—in short by creating.
Don't let them take this from you either.
