It's starting. The longer Takaichi is in power, the more Japan will fall towards fascism.
(Yes, I've been naive to think we would be spared after seeing what's happening in the Western world)

@David It really didn’t help that DPJ’s successor parties kept on bringing back their worst former leaders! Noda ushered Abe back into power in 2012 giving him a landslide victory. Noda is repeating the same thing again in 2026! Center-Left is completely destroyed this time. There’s no political brake to stop Takaichi. Not sure whether it’s true but people are saying there’s so much of Takaichi campaign ads on internet. Did she use the money at her disposal as PM (官邸機密費) ?
@JapanProf Do you think there was anything Noda could have done in 2011? I think that with the Tohoku catastrophe, he was screwed no matter what.
Now the opposition in Japan just sucks. With all the scandals the Jiminto is involved in, it's surreal that it's still the dominant party in this country. It did a good job in brainwashing the entire population into political apathy and I don't know how this can be fixed.
@David Even with the 2011 earthquake, the Fukushima nuclear disaster and all the dirty tricks that conservatives used, LDP vote share didn't increase much. Abe LDP's landslide victory in 2012 was based on the roughly similar vote share as in 2009. Fukushima disaster was caused by the LDP's corrupt nuclear policy. But unlike Kan, Noda had no brain or courage. I don't want to sound sexist but Takaichi has got more balls than Noda.
