@marcoarment
an old friend was arguing that people that boiught Tesla before they knew he was a fascist should not feel obligated to divest. ffs. people are just so lame sometimes.
@marcoarment I need to upgrade my phone, still using my 13, but I just can’t get myself to spend money at Apple especially now. Tim Cook has to go.
Close? lol.
Tim Cook is full fasc enabler and Apple has been evil a couple decades now.
@marcoarment Ansolutely. Steve Jobs is rotisserieing in his grave.
@marcoarment I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, but Apple just had another record quarter. Also, making beautiful apps like Overcast for the App Store makes you a Cook regime collaborator, not a member of the resistance.
@marcoarment @kevinrenskers The literal only reason I stopped owning Android phones was because all flagship Android became HUGE and they think people with small hands don’t deserve good phones.
I got an iPhone because of the size. It’s a good phone but now iPhones are equally as huge if not huge-er.
On my next phone I’ll be going back to Android and happy about it
@marcoarment apple never stood for anything, they wanted you to throw out all your technology and buy everything new every year. since the mac classic. seriously, its been about consumerism since then.
@marcoarment @kevinrenskers One thought experiment I recently did: It usually costs around 1$/day to have an apple device. Just add up the apple devices in your household and invest the weekly amount weekly into apple stock. Yes, this much money every week. Do you feel good now?
@marcoarment posts like this make me want to sell my iPhone and go back to GrapheneOS. I hope the Linux phone experience one day catches up to AOSP based projects. I also pray new OEMs emerge offering ports, slots & removable batteries. The Punkt mc03 that’s forthcoming has a removable battery and meaty specs but no 3.5mm jack. Unsure about SD card slot. I wouldn’t want their wrapper OS but the hardware looks nice.
@marcoarment Anyone who buys into a proprietary system will eventually become fertilizer in that walled garden.
I never bought anything new from them. But "out of OS support" Apple-Intel are may favorite Linux-Machines.
Even my iPhone mini 13 is a refurbished one - but when this gives up - I will even quit the use of 2nd Hand iPhones.
The whole US TechBros are totally lost... and every single of their stock holders with them.
@marcoarment Consider me a trendsetter. I have never bought an apple product and I never will. Also no tesla or cybertruck and I won't buy lumber from home depot... I boycott everyone who is a trumper.
@marcoarment just bought a used pixel to install graphene. My family Apple ecosystem is over. No new purchases
@marcoarment I’ll keep making this point: it’s time to stop purchasing new Apple products.
You can get whatever devices you actually need second hand if it comes to it, and Marco, you specifically have a big enough platform that if you advocated for such a boycott, it WOULD be noticed.
Stand on your principles. No new Apple hardware purchases until Tim Cook is no longer CEO.
@marcoarment @kevinrenskers Tim Cook's legacy was moving manufacturing jobs from the US to China, teaching them how to make complex products at scale, and how to install suicide nets. We should be glad he’s "destroying it”.
Oh, wait…
@marcoarment @kevinrenskers
I know this won’t make a dent in their profits, but I’ve decided not to replace my 14 Pro Max until absolutely necessary (definitely not this year), cancelled all my AppleCare policies, and disabled automatic updates on all my devices. I no longer recommend or defend the company or its products.
Apple is no longer a trusted company in my book.
@marcoarment apropos of nothing, there is an economic strike this month:
@marcoarment oh. It’s not close. It’s there.
