For those of you who took and downloaded your GTS backup from K&T Host (now offline), I'm happy to help get that set up for you (or work out a hosting deal) if you were part of ION.

I can't really complain. They gave ample warning, a process to create a full backup of both the database and all files. I downloaded olifant.social shortly after the site went down on Jan 15. I downloaded dos.1sland.social and canary on the 31st. Literally the last day possible, and decided I'd just spend yesterday getting those backups in place, figure out how I'd host Postgres, and stop 'letting the terrorists win' (by which I mean my own government) and get reconnected with the world.
It is strange how much doing so has helped. I was heads down and felt completely disconnected and cut off from the world.
Having this back up helps, and the migration was flawless. No data lost.
Kudos to K&T. They did it right. Gave us plenty of time to transition, and the tools to make sure we had everything we needed when it was time to leave.
I just wasn't ready to work on it in the midst of my city and state being under siege, but at least it's done now.
